What We Do

Born in 1949 as a cure for the post-holiday winter blues, the Sleigh & Cutter Festival has grown into one of Waseca’s favorite cold-weather celebrations!

What started as a simple way to bring cheer to the season is now a full-blown community tradition—complete with the beloved Sleigh & Cutter Parade, a town-wide medallion hunt, and the always-mysterious “Who’s Frosty?” guessing game. Bundle up, join the fun, and be part of a tradition that’s warmed Waseca for generations!

Winter magic doesn’t stop with the parade!

All season long—and even beyond—Sleigh & Cutter fun pops up across Waseca. Think sparkling ice sculptures, dazzling fireworks, colorful kite displays soaring against the winter sky, and so much more. Plus, community partners host their own indoor and outdoor activities, making the festival a true, town-wide celebration from start to finish.
